About

CAP was founded in 2018 by Fergus Brooks, a veteran with an over 30-year tenure in IT, cyber defence and cyber risk management. His journey, enriched by a significant role within Australia’s leading risk management and cyber insurance team, shaped CAP’s commitment to fortifying the cyber incident readiness of organisations. CAP has championed a proactive stance against the ever-looming threats of cyber incidents through thorough impact analysis, strategic foresight, and robust preparedness exercises.
At its core, CAP is divided into two principal functions: the creation of insightful tools for strategic organisational planning, and the provision of advisory services across the multifaceted landscape of Cyber Organisational Response & Recovery – CORR.
CAP’s journey was tempered during the COVID-19 period, a time which saw Fergus join and later lead the first cyber recovery planning team for a premier Australian bank. However, the recurring, and very public, theme of inadequate incident handling prompted Fergus to return and refine CAP’s focus, now zeroing in on assisting organisations in crafting tailored CORR strategies.
CAP will be adding partners in 2024 as the relationships become formalised. Partners already in mind come from across the spectrum of cyber response & recovery planning.
